Barathi Raja is inspired by his elder brother who is an automobile mechanic. His father is an agricultural laborer and his mother is a housewife. He has a younger brother studying in 7th standard (grade) and a sister studying in 9th standard. Barathi wants to earn more to help support his family and since his elder brother is a mechanic, he has decided to go into business with him. His new two wheeler repair kit is very helpful in his practical work. Thank you very much Robert for giving Barathi the tools for greater independence.

Subash first joined the Padma Industrial School because he wanted to support his family’s income.  His parents, Mr. Baskard and Ms.  Kowsalya, are both farm laborers and earn just 12,000 rupees (260 dollars) a year.  With 100% of the students who graduate from Padma going on to find employment that earns them $65-$85 dollars a month, Subash new this was a great opportunity.  Subash’s two sisters will also benefit from his family’s increase in income once he completes his studies.  Thank you Suzanne for making Subash’s education at the Padma Industrial School possible!

S.Tamizh Azhagan is learning the welding trade at the Padma Industrial School to help support his family. Upon completion of his studies, Azhagan will be able to earn between $65-$85 a month.  It is thanks to Joseph’s kind gift of a year of tuition that Azhagan can continue to enjoy free education at Padma! Azhagan’s father, Mr. Subhaiyan, is a farm laborer and his mother, Ms. Pappammal is a home maker. His two brothers are also farm laborers. Azhagan joined the Padma Industrial School for two reasons: to support his family and to start his own business.  Thanks, Joseph, for providing his tuition fees and allowing Tamizh to continue his studies and have greater opportunities to support his entire family.

P. Surendar is an ambitious young man. He decided to join the Padma Industrial School to supplement his family’s income. His father, Mr. Panneer, is a farm laborer and his mother, Ms. P. Sumathi, is a home maker. He has two siblings.  His brother is a caterer and his sister is working on her BA degree.  Surendar’s family income is just 12000 rupees per year ($260). With his new training and skills, Surendar will earn a monthly income between $65-85. T. Vinoth joined the welding trade at the Padma Industrial School after completing 10th grade.  Like many of his classmates, he joined the school to supplement his parents income and support his siblings. His father, Mr. Thangavel, is an agriculturist and his mother, Ms. Kamala is a home maker.  He has 2 brothers and a sister. His eldest brother is a driver and his other brother is studying in 10th grade. His sister is currently studying in 11th grade.  Vinoth’s training will allow him to earn a monthly income of between $65-85.  This will be enough to ensure that all of his siblings can complete school!  Coleman, thank you for your support of Vinoth and the Padma Industrial School.

After completing 10th grade, G. Mohanraj joined the Padma Industrial School to learn welding. He wants to increase his family income level and support his parents and siblings. His father, Mr. Govindaraj is a farm laborer and his mother, Ms.Vijaya, is a home maker.  He has 3 sisters.  Two have completed their schooling and one is in 10th grade.  Coleman, thank you very much for providing this welding kit, which is the first step in Mohanraj starting a welding career of his own!

D. Elavarasan is from a very poor family. His father, Mr. Danapal and his mother, Ms. Jayanthi, are both farm laborers. He has a brother studying in 10th grade. Although he was unable to complete 10th grade, Rajesh is an ambitious boy.  Before joining the Padma Industrial School, he worked as a welder in a harbor. Without a welding certificate, though, he was able to do very little. Since joining the Padma Industrial School he has greatly improved his welding skills. His father, Mr. Ramesh, is an agriculturist and his mother, Ms. Rajeswari, is a home maker. He has 2 sisters. The first sister is studying in 5th grade and the second is studying in 1st grade. His family income is just 12,000 rupees (260 dollars) per annum. Successful completion of this welding course will allow Rajesh to earn an income that can support his whole family!  Joe, Your generous donation of a welding kit will help make this happen.
