Dear Sandhya, Gauthier, Mahendra, Mark and Lynn, Michael, Tom, Thomas, Ray and Lael, Ted and Pam, and Rao,

Sudakar hails from the village of Perumpannaiyur, a few miles away from Manjakkudi.

His father is a farm laborer and his mother Ms.Vasuki is a home maker. He has a younger  sister doing her graduation in B.Sc. Physics and a brother studying in the 10th grade.  With his father being the sole bread-winner of the family, they were struggling to make ends meet with his meager income of Rs. 1,800 ($40) a month. He had to support the basic needs and pay for the children’s education.

Sudakar wanted to help his father support the family by contributing to the family income. He realized he would have to learn a vocational trade that would help him find a job, easily. He joined the welding course at Padma Industrial School, knowing that this would equip him with the necessary skills, to get employed.

This would not have been possible, had it not been for your generous donations, Sandhya, Gauthier, Mahendra, Mark and Lynn (x2), Michael, Tom (x2), Thomas, Ray and Lael, Ted and Pam and Rao, that enabled Padma to pay for his course fees.

Thanks to your support, Sudakar can now complete his course and will surely find a job soon after. It wouldn’t be long before Sudakar can shoulder the responsibility of his family and support his siblings’ education.

Maniraja is learning a marketable skill!

Dear Laurent, UBS, Sharmila, and Ioana & Radu,

Maniraja comes from a very modest family background and lives with his family in Tamil Nadu, India. His father, Mr.Ravi, is a mason by profession and his mother, Ms.Baby, is a home maker. He has three younger siblings – a brother studying in the 10th grade and two sisters studying in the 7th and 5th grade, respectively. His father barely earns enough to meet their basic needs and could not afford to get all his children educated.

Maniraja, opted to drop out of school and realized he would have to work and supplement his father’s income, in order to get his younger siblings educated. Being an ambitious boy, he inquired about the various vocational courses, that he could enroll for and decided to learn welding from Padma Industrial School.

He realized learning a marketable skill would help him find a job easily, but could not afford to pay the course fees at Padma.

Your generous donations, Laurent (x3), UBS (x3), Sharmila, Ioana and Radu (x5), enabled Padma Industrial School to bear the cost of Maniraja’s tuition for an entire your.

Karthikeyan can support his sister’s education!

Karthikeyan comes from a very modest family background and lives with his family in Tamil Nadu, India.

His father, K.Valayapathi, is a farm laborer and his mother, Priya is a home maker. He has a younger sister studying in the 12th grade, in a village school. Karthikeyan has grown up facing much difficulties in life and has seen his parents struggle to get both, him and his sister educated. Owing to their poor financial condition, Karthikeyan decided to discontinue his studies and realized he should learn a vocational trade that will help him support his family. He did not want his sister also discontinuing her studies and started looking out for skills that would help him get employed soon.

He got enrolled at Padma Industrial School for the welding course and is positive of finding a job, soon after he completes the course.

Palraj can focus on completing his course

Dear Laurent,

Palraj lives with his family in a village called Nachiyarkoil in Tamil Nadu, India. His father is a farm laborer and his mother is a home-maker. He has one sister who is married and lives separately with her family, and an older brother who works as a mason. The financial condition of their family is very poor and together, his father and brother earn a meager sum of Rs. 18,000 ($400) per annum which does not suffice to meet the family’s needs, much less pay for Palraj’s education.

Palraj realized that he needs to learn a skill which will help him find a job easily, so he could help support his family. He enrolled in the welding course offered by Padma Industrial School.

Palraj would not have been able to afford to pay the course fees, but your generous donation, Laurent, enabled Padma to subsidize the entire cost of the course.

Palraj is confident of finding a good job as soon as he completes his welding course.

G.Veeramani hails from the village of Tirukkarukavur 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) away from Manjakkudi.

His father Mr. Ganesan is a farmer and his mother Ms.Kaliyammal is a home maker. He has a younger  sister studying in the 10th grade.  With his father being the sole bread-winner of the family, they were struggling to make ends meet. He had to support the basic needs and pay for the children’s education.

Veeramani wanted to help his father support the family by contributing to the family income. He realized he would have to learn a vocational trade that would help him find a job, easily. He joined the electrical tarde course at Padma Industrial School, knowing that this would equip him with the necessary skills, to get employed.

Hajamaideen will soon be employed!

J.Hajamaideen is the only son of Jahir Heusen and Rabiya Beevi. His father, Jahir is a cloth seller while his mother Rabiya Beevi is a home-maker. They live in the village of Kodavasal 5kms (3.1 miles) away from Manjakkudi.

The family survives on the meager income of his father. Their annual income amounts to Rs. 14,400 ($320) which does not suffice to pay for his education and meet the family’s basic needs.  Hajamaideen realizes he will soon have to shoulder the responsibility of the family and support his father. He decided to learn a trade which would help him find a job easily.

He joined Padma Vocational Center and is pursuing his vocational trade here. He was able to enroll for this course only because of your generous donations, Bilal, Vivek, Kunal, Luis, Andrzej and Emmanuel (x7)!

Vinayakamoorthy will soon start earning

Y.Vinayakamoorthi hails from the village of Kodavasal, 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) away from Padma Industrial School.

His father Mr.M.Yoganandam is a hair dresser and his mother Ms.Latha is a house wife who is now continuing her studies.

Vinayakamoorthi has two brothers – one studying in the 12th grade and the other is studying in the 4th grade.  The family survives on the father’s income which does not suffice to meet their basic needs and also pay for the children’s education. Vinayakamoorthy realizes that his family is struggling to ensure that the children’s education is not hampered and wants to help his father by contributing to the family income. He wants to give his younger brothers good education and decided on pursuing a vocational trade which will help him find a job easily.

Mikel dreams of sending his brothers to school

Dear Adam and Brian,

P.Mikel Raj lives with his parents and 3 siblings. His father Mr. Bastin is a farm laborer and his mother is a home maker. The father’s income does not suffice to meet the family’s needs and pay for the children’s education. Mikel has 3 younger brothers of school going age – each studying in Grade 8, 6 and 3 respectively.
To support his father meet their needs, Mikel decided to join a vocation that will help him find a job easily. He  joined the vocational training course at Padma Industrial School.

S.Kaspan Raj lives with his family in a village called Perumpannaiyur, 9kms (5.5 miles) away from Manjakkudi.

His father Mr.Selvam is a farm laborer and his mother Ms.Rani is a home maker. He has an older brother who works as a driver in a private firm and a sister studying in the 8th grade.

Kaspan Raj is aware of the poor economic condition of his family and wants to help his father and brother by contributing to the family income. He wants to stand on his own without depending on his parents.

He is an enthusiastic boy and is very interested in the Electrical Trade. He joined the Electrical course run by Padma Industrial School and hopes to successfully complete the course and get employed soon.
