Saravanan becomes an income earner

Saravanan was born into a family of modest means in a village in Tamil Nadu. His father, Gurumoorthi is a mason and his mother, Padmavathi, is a housewife. His sister is studying in grade 12.
The father’s income barely makes ends meet. Saravanan wants to start contributing to the family income, and in order to ensure that he gets a well paying job, he enrolled in the Automobile Trade Course offered by Padma Vocational Centre. Silambarasan’s horizens have now widened

R.Silambarasan an ambitious youth living in the village of Abivrutheeswaram in coastal Tamil Nadu. His father Mr.Raman a farm laborer and his mother Ms.Semthamarai a home maker. There are limited educational and livelihood opportunities in his village, but Silambarasan knows that he doesn’t want to become an unskilled laborer like his father, and remain at the economic mercy of the landowners. He wants to acquire a skill and become a trained laborer, so he can enable his younger brother to go to college and get a well-paying job.
Your donations, Stacey (x4), Digvijay, Ashleigh ( x3), Bill and Heather (x3), will enable Silambarasan to enroll in and complete a year long course in the Automobile trade conducted by the Padma Vocational Training Center. Once he graduates, he is confident of getting a good job, and ensuring that his brother gets an education.

Papaiyan dreams of becoming an automobile mechanic

V.Papaiyan lives in Pudukkudi, which is about 2 miles away from Manjakkudi where the Padma Vocational Training Center is located. His father, Veerappan, is a laborer, and his mother, Muthulakshmi, is a home-maker. The annual income of the family is approximately $ 270 (Rs. 12,000) which is barely sufficient to make ends meet.
Papaiyan realized that unless he learnt a vocational trade, he and his family would not be able break out of the cycle of poverty. Madhavan is determined to improve the status of his family

Madhavan is the son of Selvaraj, a farm laborer and Kalaivani, a housewife. He hails from the village of Sengalipuram, which is about three miles away from Manjakkudi, where the Padma Vocational Training Centre is located.
The total annual income of the family is approximately Rs. 12,000 ($ 270), which is barely sufficient to meet the needs of the family. Madhavan knows that the economic situation of his family is dire, which is why he enrolled himself in the Electrical trade course at Padma Vocational Training Centre. Your donations, Cindy (x2), Stacy (x2), Dwayne and Terese (x2), Greg and Monica (x2), Jeffrey, Adam and Anil (x2), will cover the entire cost of Madhavan’s year long training course.

Kesavan Continues his studies

The family income is not sufficient for him as well as his brothers and sisters. His two brothers are in the 8th and 10th grade, and his sister is in the 5th grade.
Realizing that he needs to supplement the family income, he joined the Padma Vocational Training centre to learn the welding trade. Kadiravan is dreaming of sending his siblings to college

K.Kadiravan is the oldest of three children. His father, Gajendran, is a farm laborer, and his mother, Bavani, is a homemaker. Both his siblings are in high school – his brother is studying in 8th grade and his sister in 10th grade.The family income is not sufficient to enable both of them to pursue their studies.
Kadiravan is currently enrolled at the Padma Vocational Training center, where he is getting training to become a welder. He is a sincere student, and is confident of getting a good job once he graduates.

Manikandan is getting trained in welding!

D.Manikandan grew up in very difficult circumstances. Having lost his father at a very young age, the family struggled to make ends meet. His mother works as a farm laborer, earning little to support the needs and education of her five children. Manikandan has four sisters of which, one is married, while the remaining three are pursuing their education.
With no one else to supplement their family income, Manikandan chose to learn a vocational trade that would help him get employed soon, after completing his basic education. He joined Padma Vocational Training Center and is currently learning welding here.
He was unsure of being able to complete the course as he could not afford the course fees, But, thanks to your generous support, Glen, Manikandan’s vocational training fees have been taken care of.
Manikandan is very happy and thankful to you, for giving him the opportunity to learn a marketable skill. This will surely help him take up the responsibility of his family and support his sisters’ education.

Arivazhan is training to acquire welding skills

Dear Ellen, Benjamin, Ted Wells, Anupama, Dennis, Mark and Lisbet, Tom, David, Howard, and James,
Arivazhan comes from a very modest family background and lives with his family in Nannilam, Tamil Nadu, India. His father, Arumugam, is a farm labourer and his mother, Ms.Baby, is a home maker. He has two siblings – a brother who works as an assistant in a photo studio and a sister who is studying in the second grade. His father barely earns enough to meet their basic needs and could not afford to get all his children educated.
Arivazhan is a very ambitious boy, who realizes that as a skilled laborer he can earn much more than his father or brother. He is enrolled in the welding trade at the Padma Industrial School.
