Sudakar hails from the village of Perumpannaiyur, a few miles away from Manjakkudi.
His father is a farm laborer and his mother Ms.Vasuki is a home maker. He has a younger sister doing her graduation in B.Sc. Physics and a brother studying in the 10th grade. With his father being the sole bread-winner of the family, they were struggling to make ends meet with his meager income of Rs. 1,800 ($40) a month. He had to support the basic needs and pay for the children’s education.
Sudakar wanted to help his father support the family by contributing to the family income. He realized he would have to learn a vocational trade that would help him find a job, easily. He joined the welding course at Padma Industrial School, knowing that this would equip him with the necessary skills, to get employed.
This would not have been possible, had it not been for your generous donations, Sandhya, Gauthier, Mahendra, Mark and Lynn (x2), Michael, Tom (x2), Thomas, Ray and Lael, Ted and Pam and Rao, that enabled Padma to pay for his course fees.
Thanks to your support, Sudakar can now complete his course and will surely find a job soon after. It wouldn’t be long before Sudakar can shoulder the responsibility of his family and support his siblings’ education.
Thank you all so much, for coming together to support Sudakar’s vocational course and for giving him a source of livelihood!
