India has a huge base of two-wheelers. Getting these vehicles serviced is usually a problem in smaller towns and remote areas where auto companies usually do not have a strong service network. This gap in customer service networks creates an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to set up motor repair and service shops.
The Padma Industrial School runs a 1 year motorbike repair course that teaches students how to repair the most popular two-wheeler models on the market.
A motorbike repair kit contains the basic tools required to handle the majority of repairs for two-wheelers. With this kit as a basic investment, a trained student can start his own repair shop or work for a bigger workshop where he can hone his skills.
